QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a “Human Resources Manager” for our multinational client, which is one of the international leaders in Steel Service Centers, with the following requirements:

The position is at Orhangazi/Bursa location of the company and will be reporting to the General Manager in Turkey and the HQ in Spain.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

·     Bachelor’s degree

·     Minimum 10 years of Human Resources experience

·     Experience in industrial sector

·     Line operations management and labor related experience

·     Must be proficient in local language and English

·     Passion for the industry and excellence

·     Living in Tuzla, Gebze, Kocaeli, Orhangazi or Bursa

·     Outstanding professional communication and personal presentation

·     Personal initiative and high energy towards tasks and goals

·     Thorough knowledge of wage and salary, employment and benefits administration and payroll.

·     Ability to be proactive and reactive to anticipated and sudden changes especially as they relate to the labor situation

·     Ability to create, implement and monitor staff goals, strategies and policies.

·     Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct employees and managers to meet desired ends.

·     Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times.

 

POSITION PURPOSE

The Manager of Human Resources is responsible for the short and long term planning and day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.  Specific duties include ensuring standards and procedures are consistently applied, in addition to coordinating activities with other departments in order to facilitate the achievement the companies goals.  The ideal candidate would enjoy leading and developing associates, resolving problems and have excellent communication skills. This position plays an active part in the overall company strategy and goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • To maintain an ‘open door’ policy in HR and be personally available to all employees for work / personal problems, grievances, benefit requests, queries and suggestions.
  • To provide an advice service to both managers and employees on HR policy, legal requirements, staffing issues, and act as an arbitrator where necessary.
  • Liaising with Managers to establish their recruitment requirements ensuring all recruitment is in line with budget and forecasted levels of business.  Follow up with Managers during all stages of the recruitment process, keeping them informed of progress and ensuring that HR is aware of all actions.
  • Maintain a working recruitment policy ensuring all legal and regulations are met, including authorization of payroll actions and new hires.
  • To ensure all employee files are kept up to date – and to ensure confidentiality of employee information is maintained at all time, in line with Data Protection legislation.
  • To provide a source of information to Department Heads regarding disciplinary, grievance and employee counseling issues. Ensure all disciplinary procedures are carried out, taking role of arbitrator, note taker or advisor where appropriate.
  • Manage the sick leave policy of the company in conjunction with Department Heads.  Responsible for logging of all sick leave and other absence and provide information to managers on levels of sick leave. Take a proactive role in cases of extended or repeated sickness absence.
  • Ensure exit interviews conducted with all leavers, passing information to appropriate manager and provide analysis of exit interviews on a quarterly basis, to ensure proactive steps are taken to reduce employee turnover.
  • Coordinate and follow health and safety rules and maintain trainings in line with 6331 law.

 

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:

·       Coach and counsel employees and managers.

·       Advise the general manager and the executive committee of potential human resources opportunities.

·       Perform assessment of executives.

·       Initiate and maintain relationships with community leaders.
